Finding Balance

acceptI know what it’s like to be “out of balance” both physically and emotionally.

I know what it’s like to look in the mirror and hate what I see. A lifetime as a dancer in leotards, tights and in front of mirrors can do that to a person. The constant self-judgement, never feeling good enough, self-sabotage and depression are all familiar to me.

If these emotions are at all familiar to you, I am here to tell you that you are wasting your time and energy focussing on your negative perception of yourself. The chances are that everyone who is close to you and loves you thinks you are beautiful inside and out.

“So what?” you ask. So… start listening to those people and start believing in yourself again. Once you have accepted that you are AWESOME, come and join me on a journey of marvellous movement that will continue to motivate your self-belief and transform your body dysmorphia into body confidence!

I help women learn to love their bodies. I teach them how to reconnect with themselves and appreciate their beauty through movement. I help in guiding them to achieve a balance of health, wellness and a body that they can love.

By combining my knowledge of Pilates, personal training and dance, I aim to train women in a supportive group environment where they can sweat, giggle at the jiggles and push through comfort zones.

By constantly challenging the body and brain with different movement, I aim to shift body fat percentage, build lean muscle, improve posture and most importantly change the way you feel about and see your body!

So, with that being said, why do I do what I do?

Because I want to help you accept your flaws and embrace your beauty!

It’s taken me a long time to accept that I will never look like Gwen Stefani. Why Gwen Stefani? Well, she’s long limbed, lean and just so flipping cool! I’ve had to shift my perception of my body and be realistic about what I have and might never have. I’m achieving this by being kind to myself on an emotional level and moving my body functionally by keeping my exercise routines varied. When I am kind to myself, I find I start to eat better and crave nutrient rich foods. Read more about my relationship with and opinions about food on my Blog.

It’s so hard living life hating yourself and hating your body.  It’s just not worth it.  It’s taken me so long to figure that out.  You’re constantly trying to achieve this ideal, which is actually someone else’s ideal, and it’s unknowingly been forced upon you.

The question is: what do YOU want?

Life should be simple and enjoyable.

Let me help you feel good about yourself and remind you of how blessed you are to have the incredible body you have. View my classes >

‘Confidence is sexy! I’m comfortable with my body and not afraid to show it off.’
~ Sofia Vergara

‘[Sometimes] I’m running and get passed by a 70-year-old woman with a better body. I can’t be skinny all the time. I like to drink and I like to eat. I like burgers and bagels.’
~ Chelsea Handler

‘I am not a sample size, and I am okay with that. I’m good with who I am. I like to accentuate the positive. My waist is something I love to show off. I’m also happy that more and more women are embracing who they are, because everybody’s different. You don’t have to be a size 0 to be pretty. You just have to be comfortable with who you are.’
~ Jordin Sparks
